Despite having the best record in the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball, the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs have fallen on hard times this week, losing three straight games.

But Anchorage’s Jamar Hill tonight helped to finally stop the bleeding.

The 27-year-old right fielder reached base in the ninth inning and later scored the winning run to cap a wild 11-10 victory over the Lancaster Barnstormers.

Hill, of Bartlett High fame, went 2 for 5 with two runs scored. He is batting .280 on the season.

The Blue Crabs improved to 70-45, including 29-16 in the second half. The playoffs begin Sept. 22.
