Moore getting into playoff form (Basketball)
If it’s August, then it must mean Palmer’s Jessica Moore is on top of her game in the WNBA.
It also means the Indiana Fever are peaking for the playoffs.
Moore came off the bench to score nine points – one shy of her season high – on 4-of-5 shooting to help the Fever beat Eagle River’s Kelsey Griffin and the Connecticut Sun 79-66 yesterday.
Moore, of Colony High fame, outscored Griffin 9-3. Both players finished with three rebounds, although Moore logged more playing time 17 to 15.
Fever, winners of five straight, lead the Eastern Conference with a 21-10 mark heading in the home strech of the regular season. Indiana reached the WNBA Finals last summer, with Moore enjoying a career season.
Moore, a reserve post player, is enjoying a fine month of August. The 6-foot-3 forward is averaging 4.3 points and 2.6 rebounds while shooting 43 percent in a half dozen games.
