Army game special for Heun (Football)

September 11, 2010

Alaska’s Jake Heun and the University of Hawaii earned their first win of the season today with a 31-28 triumph over Army.

But don’t expect Heun to brag about the victory.

That’s because three of his relatives, including his father, graduated from West Point.

“Half the family will probably sit on Hawaii’s side, the other half on Army’s side. Then we’ll switch over,” Heun told the Honolulu Star-Advertiser.

Heun, of Palmer High fame, is a senior linebacker for Hawaii (1-1).

He’s also an undefeated mixed-martial arts fighter after winning his debut over the summer.

Is the military also in his plans?

“Maybe after I’m done with football and fighting I’ll join up and jump out of airplanes and stuff,” Heun said.
