Alaska’s Staggs featured in book (Baseball)

October 26, 2010

Former Major League Baseball second baseman Steve Staggs, who was born in Anchorage in 1951 and played parts of two seasons with the Blue Jays and Athletics in the late 1970s, is one of the former players featured in this recently published book written by Douglas J. Gladstone. With a foreword written by the Emmy Award-winning broadcast journalist, Dave Marash, A Bitter Cup of Coffee tells the true story of a group of former big-league ballplayers denied pensions as a result of the failure of both the league and the union.
