Allen makes second career catch (Football)
Everybody remembers their first career catch in college, but chances are Anchorage’s Cameron Allen will focus on his second reception more.
Allen hauled in a 43-yarder in the third quarter Saturday to set up a touchdown for Illinois Wesleyan University during a 29-19 loss to Wheaton College in NCAA Division III action.
It was third-and-12 when coaches finally called his number, and Allen answered. Two plays later the Titans scored.
The 5-foot-9 sophomore wide receiver came into the game with one career reception, a puny 4-yarder.
Allen, of Service High fame, is also one of the players who return kickoffs. His average is 21 yards on four returns.
The loss was the first of the season for Illinois Wesleyan (3-1).
