Chalmers shines in preseason debut (Basketball)
October 5, 2010

It’s only the preseason, but Anchorage’s Mario Chalmers looked sublime in his first action of the NBA season.
The Miami Heat point guard delivered 10 points and 7 assists in a 105-89 South Beach win over Detroit.
Chalmers, of Bartlett High fame, also had a +16, the second highest plus-minus total of all 13 Miami players.
He came off the bench and played 20 minutes, showing no ill effects of an ankle injury suffered in training camp. He didn’t practice Monday but managed to play in the first home game.
Chalmers also made the highlight reel, sinking a 3-pointer off a wraparound behind-the-back pass from LeBron James.
