Desjarlais nets first college goal (Soccer)

One of the most prolific scorers in Alaska high school history finally found the net at the college level.

Anchorage’s Yvonne Desjarlais of the University of Arkansas netted her first NCAA goal tonight in a 4-0 win at Mississippi State.

The freshman forward pounced on rebound in the 76 th minute. She cleaned up a deflection off a defender right in front of the net following a corner kick.

Desjarlais, of Service High fame, has started three of 13 matches. She scored on her eighth shot on goal.

In Alaska, she earned high school All-American honors and finished as Service’s second all-time leading scorer with 150 career points on 49 goals and 52 assists.
