Devine on the move in Belgium (Basketball)
Eagle River’s Chris Devine is hoping a new team leads to a fresh start in Belgium.
The 6-foot-9 forward has switched clubs, going from Voo Verviers-Pepinster to Stella Artois Leuven, in the country’s premier professional basketball league.
Devine, of Chugiak High fame, has played two games, including a 79-75 loss to Gent today.
The former UC Santa Barbara star is averaging 7 points and 3.5 rebounds in 20 minutes.
Just being back on the court is a victory for Devine, a talented but injury-prone player who had his season cut short last year because he was hurt.
