NAU, Savage perfect in Big Sky (Soccer)

Substitute Carolyn Savage of Anchorage helped keep the Northern Arizona University women’s soccer team unbeaten in the Big Sky Conference.
The junior forward assisted on last night’s only goal in a 1-0 win over Northern Colorado in the regular-season finale for both teams, securing the conference championship for the Lumberjacks.
Savage, of Dimond High fame, notched her second assist of the season when she set up teammate Jennifer Beaudoin in the 73rd minute after a scramble in front of the net following a corner kick.
The win extended Northern Arizona’s school-record 11-match unbeaten streak. The team is 11-3-3 overall.
Savage has collected 2 goals and 2 assists in 17 matches. She’s also one of only seven players to log 1,000 minutes of playing time this season.
She was among eight graduating Lumberjacks honored before the match.
Northern Arizona will face Northern Colorado again Nov. 5 in the semifinals of the Big Sky Tournament.
