He doesn’t play in the NBA, but tonight Brad Oleson of North Pole was on that level.

The 6-foot-3 starting guard with Spanish power Caja Laboral pumped in double figures in a 110-105 loss to the Memphis Grizzlies during the Euroleague-NBA exhibition challenge.

Oleson, of UAF fame, scored 14 points, highlighted by back-to-back 3-pointers in the first quarter when the reigning Spanish Premier League champions netted 13 of the first 20 points.

The 27-year-old former NCAA D2 All-American also drained a triple early in the fourth quarter, pulling Caja Laboral within 88-85 with eight minutes to go.

Oleson will get another crack at an NBA team Saturday night when the Spaniards tip off against the San Antonio Spurs.

In 2005, Oleson got a tryout with the Spurs before eventually going to the USBL, where he helped Dodge City win the league championship.

Last year he cut down the nets again, this time in the Spanish League.

Now he’s taking it to NBA teams.

Not bad for a guy who wasn’t even really recruited out of high school.
