Just four games into his sophomore and Leif Karlberg has already put his stamp on The Master’s College basketball squad.

The Anchorage guard bagged 20 points on 7-of-11 shooting in last night’s 83-75 road win over San Diego Christian in NAIA action.

Karlberg, of Grace Christian fame, leads the 3-1 Mustangs in scoring at 17 per game. This long-range bomber has hit 18 of 34 from 3-point range for an eye-popping 53-percent clip.

He is also chipping in 3 rebounds and 2.5 assists.

His high game this season is 25 points.

The Master’s College is coached by Chuck Martin, of Wasilla High fame, who is in his fifth season on campus and has on paper his most talented group. They will be tested, however.

The Mustangs play NAIA preseason No. 1 and last year’s national runner-up Azusa Pacific, No. 5 Concordia (last year’s regular-season conference champion) and No. 16 Biola in the coming weeks.
