Soldotna’s Blaine Carver is making this college soccer thing look easy.

Just a freshman, the Seattle Pacific University striker kept the good times rolling over the weekend when he found the back of the net twice to provide a 2-1 win over Saint Martin’s.

It might have been Senior Night, but the evening belonged to Carver.

With his team trailing the defending conference champs 1-0 early in the first half, Carver scored the equalizer in the 13th minute when he pounced on a rebound in front of the net.

Seven minutes later the Alaska player put SPU up for good. Teammate Elliot Morton lobbed a ball into the box, where Carver controlled the ball in traffic and beat the keeper to the right side.

It was Carver’s seventh goal, ranking him fifth in the Great Northwest Athletic Conference.
