Adrina LaVern of Anchorage can cross ‘sink game-winning shot’ off her to-do list.

The freshman forward’s 3-pointer inside the final minute lifted Midland University of Nebraska to a thrilling 69-68 victory over College of St. Mary in NAIA action.

LaVern, of West High fame, started the game and finished with 10 points, right at her season average.

Turns out her team needed every single one of them.

The 5-foot-10 Alaska player had provided Midland with a 10-point cushion with a basket to open the second half. But College of St. Mary roared back to carry the lead into the final minute before LaVern sank the winning 3-pointer with 40 seconds left.

Midland survived two missed shots in the last seconds to win, improving to 4-3.

LaVern made 2 of 3 threes in the game and is 5 for 16 on the season.
