Northwestern University swimmer Meghan Cavanaugh of Anchorage enjoyed a strong showing in Saturday’s home opener against Big Ten rival Purdue. Alaska’s Jenna Johnson started and played 16 minutes for Utah State University in tonight’s 84-50 exhibition blowout of the University of Mary. The 5-foot-10 sophomore scored 4 points, grabbed 3 rebounds and added 4 assists. Johnson, of Wasilla High fame, was named to the All-WAC Freshman Team last season.
