Bartelli surpasses 60 career wins (Wrestling)

After winning 170 matches in high school, you just knew wrestler Alan Bartelli of Wasilla would thrive at the NCAA D1 level.

And he has.

The senior 125-pounder at Boise State University recently surpassed the 60-win mark for his college career, highlighted by a team-best 24 wins last season that culminated with a sixth-place finish at the Pac-10 Tournament.

Bartelli, of Wasilla High fame, has won 8 of 11 matches so far this season as he tries to qualify for the NCAA Championships for a second consecutive year.

His career record stands at 61-49 – and counting. Boise State returns to the mat Jan. 8 at the National Duals. The NCAAs are in March.
