In gymnastics, a slight stumble can be the difference between victory and defeat.

Just ask Southern Utah University, which upset No. 5 UCLA by three-tenths of a point last night in front of a home crowd of 5,000.

Anchorage’s Shannon Coughlin sealed the deal when she delivered a gold-medal performance on the floor in the final rotation.

Coughlin, of AGC fame, won with a score of 9.85, just shy of her career-best of 9.9.

The 5-foot-2 senior from the Alaska also recorded a season-high 9.775 on the vault and a 9.65 on the beam.
