Will Egolf of Haines found his groove against Northern Iowa.

Unfortunately, though, the same couldn’t be said for the entire Bradley University men’s basketball team.

Egolf bagged a career-high 19 points in an 83-77 loss during the Missouri Valley Conference matchup, the team’s fifth consecutive defeat in league play.

The 6-foot-9 junior forward sank 6 of 9 field goals and 7 of 8 free throws, a dominating performance for a player who had netted double figures just 14 times in 70 career games.

But he was nearly unstoppable on this night.

Actually the whole team was feeling it, especially in a charging-from-behind second half.

Despite taking the court without two of their top playmakers who are out with season-ending injuries, the Braves still managed to shoot a smoking 63 percent (17-for-27) in the final 20 minutes.

Egolf, of Juneau-Douglas High fame, is averaging a career-best 8.7 points through 16 games this season. Last year he was good for 7 points in 31 games.
