Karlberg, ‘Stangs extend win streak (Basketball)

Leif Karberg of Anchorage continues to do his part to help The Master’s College Mustangs overcome a 3-6 start.
Today the sophomore guard scored a team-high 21 points to highlight a 71-66 victory over visiting Cal Maritime, the team’s fifth straight win.
Karlberg, of Grace Christian fame, sank 6 of 10 field goals, including a team-best four 3-pointers, while playing a game-high 36 minutes.
He had nine points in the first half. Then during a key stretch in the second half, he bagged five consecutive points to extend the cushion to 53-47.
At the end he drilled three clutch free throws to seal the deal.
Karlberg pushed his scoring average to 14.3 points through 14 games.
