LaVern collects double-double (Basketball)

Another big game by Adrina LaVern of Anchorage has put the freshman forward in rare company.
She collected 24 points and 14 rebounds for Midland University (Neb.) in a recent 77-59 romp over winless Pacific Union in the Biola University Holiday Classic.
LaVern, of West High fame, now leads the team in scoring (13.4) and ranks second in rebounding (5.6), a rarity for first-year college players.
Against Pacific Union, the 5-foot-10 Alaska player sank 9 of 17 field goals, including a season-high five 3-pointers.
