Rash suffers blackout on ESPN (Bowling)
Sean Rash of Anchorage used to be lights out on TV.
Now it seems he has suffered a blackout.
Rash, of Jewel Lake Bowl fame, lost to eventual champion Chris Barnes 246-176 in the semifinals of the PBA World Championship in Las Vegas.
Rash, 28, was the No.2 qualifier but slipped to third after losing in the stepladder finals. He pocketed $14,000.
The Alaska bowler was unbeatable under the bright lights on ESPN when his career started in 2004. He won his first seven TV appearances, one shy of the PBA record.
Since his last title, though, Rash has gone cold, losing six straight TV matches.
For his professional career, he has won four PBA titles, rolled 10 perfect games and won more than $425,000.
