DBH, ORU win eighth straight (Basketball)
No team in the Summit League playing as well as Oral Roberts University.
And perhaps no ORU big man is playing as well as Alaska’s Damen Bell-Holter.
Bell-Holter, of Hydaburg fame, delivered a double-double in points and rebounds as Golden Eagles won their eighth straight game last night with a 69-57 win over visiting Western Illinois University.
His 13 points and 11 rebounds gave the 6-foot-10 center a career-best eight double-doubles on the season.
Through 31 games, Bell-Holter leads ORU in rebounding (7.8) while ranking third in scoring (13.8).
The Golden Eagles are 17-14 overall, 13-5 in the Summit League. They secured the No. 2 seed for the league’s postseason tournament next weekend.
Bell-Holter was a two-time first team all-state player at Ketchikan High School despite never making the state tournament.
