Lowe comes to RIT’s rescue (Basketball)
It was Senior Day at Rochester Institute of Technology today, but the day belonged to junior Marcus Lowe of Anchorage.
Lowe’s fingerprints were all over a 67-61 victory over Alfred University during NCAA D3 action in New York.
The 5-foot-8 starting guard finished with 10 points and 5 assists, with most of his damage coming in the closing six minutes.
With his team clinging to a 51-49 advantage, Lowe entered the game and immediately assisted on a jumper to push the lead to four.
At the 4:11 mark, he assisted on another jumper to make it 57-52.
With 1:16 remaining, he fed a teammate for a 3-pointer that served as a knockout blow.
Lowe, of Service High fame, added a pair of free throws with 18 seconds.
RIT finished the season with a 11-14 record, 8-8 in the Empire 8 conference.
