Severns, DU win Sun Belt (Swimming)

For the second time in his career, Caleb Severns of Fairbanks can call himself a conference champion.

The University of Denver senor finished second in the men’s 200 backstroke at the Sun Belt Conference Swimming and Diving Championships in Rockwall, Texas.

He clocked a NCAA B cut time of 1:45.47, just a blink behind teammate Kyle Milberg, who set sew meet, conference and school records (1:44.69).

Severns, of Lathrop High fame, has helped the men’s team win its only two Sun Belt titles. The first came in 2009, the second today.
