He hadn’t played college basketball for three seasons before this year, but the layoff didn’t hurt Deray Wilson of Anchorage.

The 5-foot-9 junior guard turned in a start-studded junior season at D2 Adam State College, earning the 24-year-old All-Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference honors.

Wilson, of West High fame, made the first team all-conference team after averaging 13.5 points per game and pumping in 20 or more eight times, highlighted by his season-high 30-point performance against No. 20 Colorado School of Mines.

Led by the Alaska player, Adams State won a record 20 games and is the running for its second NCAA Tournament berth in school history.
