Chugiak’s Kelly Cobb was one of seven forwards invited to the U.S. Under-20 women’s national team training camp this weekend in Los Angeles.

Cobb, of Cook Inlet Velocity fame, is one of 26 players called in by head coach April Heinrichs as the Americans continue to prepare for qualifying for the 2012 U-20 Women’s World Cup in Uzbekistan.

The roster includes 11 collegians, including midfielder Mandy Laddish of 2010 NCAA champion Notre Dame.

Cobb, who also stars for the Cook Inlet Velocity, is no stranger to the big stage.

Just last month she fueled a 2-0 win over Norway for the national team at the La Manga Ten Nations Tournament in Spain when she netted a goal and an assist.
