Corey Madden of Anchorage is taking to this Double-A things pretty well.

The 27-year-old relief pitcher for the Jacksonville Suns, a Southern League affiliate of the Florida Marlins, hasn’t allowed an earned run in two weeks and lowered his ERA after his most recent outing.

The 6-foot-1 righty delivered shutout relief for the sixth time in seven appearances this season, helping get his ERA down to a tidy 1.69.

Madden, of East High fame, has given up just six hits and two earned runs in 10 2/3 innings while striking out 10, continuing his reputation as a strikeout pitcher.

This is Madden’s first stint at Double-A in his six-year professional career.
