Schoenborn hits second homer (Softball)
Members of the University of Minnesota-Crookston softball team will probably see Wayne State pitcher Katie Goetzinger in their nightmares.
Everyone except Anchorage’s Rachel Schoenborn.
Goetzinger dominated a doubleheader by fanning 13 in a 7-0 victory before coming in relief to earn the save in a 5-4 win, stretching Wayne State’s home winning streak to 24 games.
Schoenborn, of East High fame, provided the only bright spot against the seemingly untouchable pitcher, crushing a solo home run in the seventh inning.
It was Schoenborn’s second homer in 28 college games. The freshman infielder is hitting .320.
