Randall highlights USSA Awards (Skiing)
Anchorage’s Kikkan Randall picked up a pair of prestigious awards at the U.S. Ski and Snowboard Association annual banquet in Park City, Utah.
The champion skier was given the Cross Country Skier of the Year Award as well as the Buddy Werner Award for her leadership and sportsmanship.
Randall, of East High fame, enjoyed a historic season with four World Cup sprint podiums, two wins and a third-place finish in the season points race.

Off her skis, Randall is just as fast to help others.
She rallied fellow skiers to help the people of Japan after the earthquake and tsunami, joining forces with skiershelpingjapan.com, and she is involved with a new organization called Fast and Female, which focuses on inspiring and empowering young women.
Anchorage’s Erik Flora of Alaska Pacific University was presented the Cross Country International Coach of the Year Award and the APU Nordic Ski Center was named Cross Country Club of the Year Award.
