Anchorage’s Jake Heun will get back into the octagon next month to take on a former NCAA wrestling champion.

It’ll be an intriguing matchup pitting a former University of Hawaii football player against a former University of Missouri wrestler.

Heun, of Palmer High fame, will bring a 2-0 record into the mixed martial arts fight scheduled for Aug. 27 in Honoulu. He also wrestled back in the day, placing sixth at the ASAA Class 4A state tournament in 2004.

Heun doesn’t have the mat experience like Mark Ellis, a college national champion in 2009.

But Ellis doesn’t have the ring experience like Heun. This will be his first MMA fight.

Heun last fought in April, when he used a kimora to beat veteran Brandon Morgan by submission.
