Tonight’s Triple-A baseball game between Round Rock and Albuquerque featured 36 hits and eight pitchers, and Albuquerque reliever Joe Newby of Soldotna was the only one not to allow a base hit.
The 29-year-old righty lowered his ERA to 4.58 after throwing 1.1 innings of scoreless relief in the sixth and seventh during a 13-10 loss.
Newby has pitched in 10 games for the Isotopes since he was promoted to the Los Angeles Dodgers affiliate last month.
Four times since June 11 he has pitched goose eggs, rebounding from a couple poor outings.
