Knee injury sidelines Harris (Basketball)

On top of his game, Ramon Harris of Anchorage has been on top of the world in China.

But his remarkable rookie year might be over.

The 6-foot-7 starting forward suffered a knee injury during a recent game for Ningzia Hanas in China’s National Basketball League. He got hurt after another player rolled over his leg during a scramble for a loose ball.

“Knee injury might have me home early,” Harris wrote on Twitter. “Just gotta leave it in Gods hands!”

The injury will likely halt his breakout season during which he has averaged 19.3 points, 6.2 rebounds and 2.5 steals in 12 games. The highlight of his season was the 48-point explosion he enjoyed three weeks ago.

Harris, of West High fame, has practically reinvented himself in China.

He was more of a role player at the University of Kentucky, but with Ningzia Hanas he has been an offensive threat reminiscent of 2006 when he was the Alaska Player of the Year.
