Moore is the consummate pro (Basketball)
Her right knee feels better than it did at the beginning of the WNBA season, but Palmer’s Jessica Moore still isn’t 100 percent. Not even close.
But she’s good enough to play.
It’s also good enough to help the 28-year-old veteran center secure a roster spot with the Connecticut Sun after landing with the team as a free agent nearly two months ago.
Palmer’s Jessica Moore of the Connecticut Sun is in her seventh professional season.
Moore, of Colony High fame, didn’t log much playing time at the start of the season but she eventually earned the job as backup center for the second-place team in the Eastern Conference.
“She’s want we need,” Sun coach Mike Thibault told the Norwich Bulletin. “She understands what it’s like to be a good pro and fit in on a team.”
The 6-foot-3 Moore joined Connecticut after being waived by the Indiana Fever in June following two seasons, including a run to the WNBA Finals. This is her fourth WNBA team after stops in Charlotte, Los Angeles and Indianapolis.
“She knows she could be gone, she could be here,” the coach said. “It all depends on how hard you play and how good you are with chemistry. She wants to stick around. She gets it.”
