She’s made a name for herself this year as a closer for the Duke University women’s soccer team, but it was Chugiak’s Kelly Cobb’s assist that set up the Blue Devils for a NCAA championship.

Cobb assisted on the game winning goal in the 51st minute to lead Duke to a 4-1 victory over Wake Forest in the national semifinals today in Kennesaw, Ga.

The No. 3 Blue Devils advanced to the College Cup final Sunday against No. 1 Stanford.

Cobb, of Chugiak High fame, leads the team in scoring with a freshman record 31 points on 11 goals and 9 assists in 25 games.
