Rhea named player of the week (Basketball)
Juneau’s Talisa Rhea today became the third consecutive member of the Seattle University women’s basketball team to be named Independent Player of the Week by College Sports Madness.
The 5-foot-11 senior guard had her fingerprints all over Sunday’s 69-55 victory over Portland in which she bagged 11 points, 6 rebounds, 6 assists and 3 steals.
It was the fourth straight game Rhea scored double digits while the steals were a season high.
Through the first 9 games Rhea leads the team in assists [5.4] and is second in both scoring [12.3] and rebounding [5.2].
“She can influence the game as a scorer, a passer or a defender,” Seattle coach Joan Bonvicini told the school website. “She is the ultimate team player and winner.”
