Engel pumps in season high 14 (Basketball)
Boise State University freshman guard Keiahnna Engel of Anchorage enjoyed her best college game against UNLV.
She came off the bench to collect season highs with 14 points and 5 steals in a 75-66 loss during Mountain West Conference women’s action.
Engel, of Dimond High fame, added 5 rebounds in playing 27 minutes.
Here is an excerpt from the Boise State website:
Engel was huge for the Broncos in the rally attempt as she scored all 10 second half points in the final 10:17 of the frame. At one point she scored six consecutive points to bring Boise State from 10 down to within four points, the first time, with 3:38 on the clock. She used her athleticism to continually drive into the paint finishing the night going six-of-11 (54.6 pct.) from the floor and two-for-two from the free-throw line. It was also the third game for the Anchorage, Alaska, native to record five steals, a team and career-high (tie).
