Dunbar clinches victory for Ducks [Track]
Alaska’s Trevor Dunbar today put the finishing touches on a nice win for the University of Oregon men’s track and field team.
He won the second-to-last event to clinch victory during the Pepsi Team Invitational at historic Hayward Field in Eugene, helping the Ducks beat three-time NCAA outdoor champion Texas A&M as well as Pac-12 rivals Washington and UCLA.
Dunbar, of Kodiak High fame, was first in the 5,000 meters in 13:51.79 with teammate Chris Kwiatkowski second in 14:04.38.
“Trevor and Chris did a good job,” Oregon director of track and field Vin Lananna told the The Register-Guard. “It was nice to be able to get them to solidify it.”
