Madden gets himself back on track [Baseball]

The good thing about baseball is that there is a game every day, so players get lots of chances to redeem themselves.

Relief pitchers don’t have it so easy.

Just ask Corey Madden of Anchorage.

He pitches about every three days with the Jacksonville [Fla.] Suns, the Double-A affiliate of the Miami Marlins.

Madden, of East High fame, had plenty of time to think about back-to-back poor outings last week in which he gave up his only earned runs of the season.

It might explain why he’s come back with back-to-back scoreless relief appearances, including a 2-inning gem last night in a 9-0 win over Mobile.

Madden struck out two of the seven batters he faced.

He also lowered his ERA to 3.60 in 10 innings.
