Western Nevada College pitcher Dylan Baker of Juneau has been named a Junior College First Team All-American, making him the school’s first baseball player to earn such recognition.

The Region 18 Pitcher of the Year was 13-0 with a 1.91 earned run average this season. He struck out 126 batters in 84.2 innings and surrendered held opposing hitters to a .155 batting average.

“Dylan had the best season of any pitcher we have ever had,” said Western Nevada coach DJ Whittemore. “He may have had the best year of any pitcher in JUCO baseball.”

Baker last week was drafted in the fifth round by the Cleveland Indians.
