DeLoach third at Prefontaine Classic [Track]
Alaska’s Janay DeLoach finished third in the women’s long jump at the 38th annual Prefontaine Classic in Eugene, Ore.
She jumped 22 feet, ¼ inches.
“Consistency was the big thing for me. No matter what happens I want to be consistent,” she told reporters. “The wind was switching. It seemed like it was a head wind on one jump and a tail wind on the next.
“From here I just want to stay healthy and get to the Trials. All that matters is how you do at the Trials. I’m ready for that to be here.”
DeLoach, of Eielson High fame, is ranked No. 2 in the world at 22-10 ¾.
