After a spectacular season in Italy, Doron Perkins of Anchorage is getting another shot at the NBA.

The 29-year-old point guard is one of 11 players on the roster for Pheonix Suns in the Las Vegas Summer League.

He will compete for minutes with recent first-round draft pick Kendall Marshall from North Carolina as well as former college stars Jacob Pullen [Kansas State] and Matt Howard [Florida].

Perkins, of Bartlett High fame, played last season for Euroleague power Bennet Cantu of the Italian League and averaged 11.1 points, 6.2 rebounds and 2.4 assists in 18 games.

In 2006, Perkins played NBA Summer League ball for the Lakers.

The 6-foot-3 playmaker went to college at Santa Barbara and has played for the last few seasons in the Euroleague for Israeli and Italian teams.
