Griffin sad to see August go [Basketball]
There’s probably no other WNBA player sadder see the end of August coming than Eagle River’s Kelsey Griffin.
The third-year forward with the Connecticut Sun averaged a season-high 7.2 points in six games this month.
She had averaged 0.9 points in her previous 16 games before the Olympic break.
Griffin, of Chugiak High fame, started last night’s game and pumped in a season-high 13 points in an 84-73 win over San Antonio.
The 6-foot-2 Alaskan also grabbed 10 rebounds for her first double-double of 2012.
She also had her first blocked shot.
