August 21, 2012

When it comes to picking the top pitcher in the American Association pro league, you could make a strong case for Alaska’s Matt Way.
The southpaw from Sitka leads the league in strikeouts [105] and complete games [5] in 18 starts. He is fifth in wins [9].
Way threw his most recent CG with a 6-hitter in a 5-2 win over Kansas City, lowering his ERA to 3.78 on the season.
“My mechanics are starting to come back together for me,” he told me. “Feeling a little better lately.”
The 26-year-old has struck out 8 or more in six starts, with a high of 12.
