Moore nears two career milestones [Basketball]
One of the best basketball players to ever come out of Alaska is nearing a couple sweet career milestones in the WNBA.
Palmer’s Jessica Moore is on the verge of eclipsing the 700-point and 500-rebound marks in her eighth season in the league.
The Connecticut Sun center has scored 698 points in 245 career games, including playoffs. Her rebounding total stands at 489.
Moore, of Colony High fame, is a defensive specialist. She provides hustle and muscle coming off the bench.
The 6-foot-3 post player has been in the WNBA since 2005 and played for Charlotte, Los Angeles, Indiana, Atlanta and Connecticut.
She is one of our state’s greatest champions, having won three national titles at the University of Connecticut. She almost won a WNBA title in 2009 when Indiana made the finals but lost to Phoenix in a deciding Game 5.
