Blaine Carver

Now this is more like it.

A year after struggling to find the net, Soldotna striker Blaine Carver is up to his old tricks again.

The junior soccer player with No. 11-ranked Seattle Pacific University collected his second goal in his second game of the season, the latest coming in a 3-1 win over No. 23 Chico State.

Carver scored in the 52nd minute after collecting the ball near the goal line and slipping it past the goalkeeper.

His first goal of the season came off a header in a 4-2 win over Notre Dame de Namur in the season opener.

The Alaska playmaker now has 12 career goals.
