Bowman glad to back in NFL with Bears [Football]
Anchorage’s Zack Bowman is back in the NFL.
A few weeks after getting released by the Minnesota Vikings, the fifth-year cornerback has rejoined the Chicago Bears.
“I was shocked when I got the phone call, but then I realized the opportunity that I had, so I was excited,” he told cbssports.com.
Bowman, of Bartlett High fame, played for the Bears from 2008 to 2011 and started 16 of 46 games.
He had 117 tackles, seven interceptions, two forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries [including one for a TD].
Look for him to make an immediate impact on special teams before working his way back into the defensive backfield.
“This is something that I’ve been doing since I was in the fourth grade, and then not to be able to do for a few weeks or a month, it sucks,” Bowman said. “But it’s fun to be back.”
