Miami Heat guard Mario Chalmers of Anchorage bagged 12 of his season-high 20 points in the first quarter to lead a quick start that fueled a 103-97 victory over Oklahoma City on Christmas. Chalmers, of Bartlett High fame, came into the game averaging just 6.5 points. “No one ever doubts Rio in big games,” Heat coach Erik Spoelstra told the Miami Herald. “You want him in your foxhole when the pressure is high. We’re clearly a better team when he is at his best.” |
