You can forget about Hack-a-Holter.

Alaska’a Damen Bell-Holter of Oral Roberts is making opponents pay for fouling him by making his free throws at a career-best 76-percent clip.

The 6-foot-9 senior center tonight drained 11-of-12 foul shots en route to a 27-point performance in a 64-52 win over Texas A&M Corpus Christi.

Bell-Holter has made 35-of-44 [80%] foul shots in the last five games.

“I’ve been in the gym lately too because I know I’m gonna get fouled a lot so I need to make free throws,” he told me.

Bell-Holter, of Ketchikan High fame, also sank 8-of-9 field goals and grabbed 13 rebounds for his ninth double-figure rebounding total in 18 games.

He has averaged 13 rebounds in the last six games and a career-best 10 rebounds for the season, tops in the Southland Conference and top 20 in the country.

“Just being aggressive and working hard for rebounds,” he said. “Teams have been completely doubling and sitting in my lap, so I’ve been just crashing rebounds and when guys are making shots it makes things even tougher for teams because they have to choose whether to let me go 1-on-1 or let guys hits 3 or be open.”

This was the fourth time with 25 or more points in the last five games, highlighted by the career-high 35 he had last week.
