DBH becomes D-1’s first 20/20 man [Basketball]
Oral Roberts senior Damen Bell-Holter of Hydaburg wants to get seen by pro scouts.
So went all 20/20 on Northwestern State.
Bell-Holter tonight became the first player in the nation to eclipse the 20-point, 20-rebound barrier in the same NCAA D1 game, going for 25 points and a career-high 20 rebounds in an 80-74 win in Tulsa, Okla.
“It’s so humbling. I come from a village in Alaska to doing this … it’s extremely humbling,” he told me. “I want to be one of the best players to come out of Alaska, man. I have so much to prove.”
He made 8-of-13 shots from the field and 9-of-13 from the line. He had nine offensive boards.
It was his 15th career double-double, third in four games.
During that recent span he is averaging 26 points and 13.8 rebounds – probably the best stretch of basketball by any player from the 907.
For the season he is scoring a career-best 13.9 points and grabbing a career-best 9.1 boards in 15 games.
