Perkins leaves Ukraine, signs in China [Basketball]

Just a week after leaving his professional team in Ukraine, Doron Perkins of Anchorage is on his way to China.

The veteran point guard has signed with the Foshan Long Lions, who are 7-17 in the country’s top division to rank 13th out of 17 teams.

Perkins, of Bartlett High fame, averaged 10.9 points, 6.3 rebounds and 5.4 assists in 14 games in Ukraine league games. He also played in several EuroCup and VTB United League games.

He also played in one Euroleague qualifier, scoring 15 points and grabbing 10 rebounds.

Since turning pro in 2005 out of Santa Clara, Perkins has played professionally in Japan, Germany, Belgium, Israel, Italy, Ukraine and now China.
