DeLoach wins 60m hurdles in Boston [Track]

As a fun way to distract her attention from the long jump, Alaska’s Janay DeLoach likes to mess around with the hurdles.
But it doesn’t look like she’s playing.
DeLoach today scored a surprise win in the 60-meter hurdles at the New Balance Indoor Grand Prix in Boston, crossing in 7.97 seconds to beat Tiffany Porter of Great Britain by .02 ticks.
DeLoach is the 2012 Olympic bronze medalist in the long jump.
“I’ve been doing the hurdles the last couple years really to get away from the long jump and do something fun and I’ve been working really hard and having a blast,” she told reporters after the race.
“It wasn’t a perfect race but I would give it a B-plus. It was pretty good. I’ll never give up the long jump. It’s my first love so I’ll never give it up, but I really like the hurdles and they really complement each other.”
